Calico markings are some of the most popular, since there are so many interesting color combinations you can get with them.
I will show you all of the different markings and patches, but obviously not all of the combinations!
Each of these four varieties comes with its own mandatory patches. The first variety only has one mandatory patch: a white one on the butt. The second variety had the white butt patch plus 5 patches on the tail. The third and fourth varieties have an orange butt patch and 5 tail patches.
Now that we've got the basic color schemes out of the way, I will show you all of the possible patches. You may not find this part interesting, since most people find the calico patches to be annoying anyway, but I wanted to keep track so that I could see what happens in the next generation with them.
These patches are unrelated, meaning they are chosen independently:
Unlike the previous patches, these patches are related to each other:
Also note that there is a higher chance to have female calicos than male calicos. 3/4 catz out of the AC will be female, and only 1/4 will be male. I guess the programmers wanted to make it more realistic, since in real life calicos are always female. But they had to throw some males in there too so you can have purebred calicos!
The minimum number a patches an AC calico can have is 3 (There is only a .0002% chance of this happening!). The maximum is 23 patches (There is only a 1.6% chance of this happening). [note: I'm just counting what the visible patches are, not the number of paintballs. Some patches are made up of a number of paintballs.]
Ok, now I want to go back to the original picture of the 4 base color varieties and point out some patterns.
Calicos are really playful and have fun personalities. They often have uneven eyelids.
P.F. Magic Description: Catz of the Calico breed are playful, lovable, learn new tricks easily and come quickly when called.
Best variety: the less patches the better! alternatively, some people like patches if they are just the white and black ones. good luck breeding for that though!
Best traits: mostly everything! Calicos have an awesome coat color pattern, which makes for very interesting mixies. Their body shape is also quite nice, and works well as a base for many of the other breeds as well.
Worst traits: patches! They can look good occasionally, but it's hard to do!
